The Louisiana Peach Festival 2022 is in the books! This year is the second year I participated as a vendor. It is held in my town, which is known for its peaches! It is definitely the largest craft show I take part in; people come from out of town to come to the Peach Fest!
Shane and I set up my tent on the street the evening before. On the day of, we got there around 7:45 in the morning to set up the rest of my booth. He helped me unload and set up until about 8:30. He let me use the bathroom before he left (thanks babe!), and then all I had to do was to wait for it to start. The arts market started at 9 AM, but some people were walking around before then.
I was placed near the kid’s corner, where they had several DIY crafts, musical performances, and even costumed performers, like a stilt walker. I saw Elsa and Anna taking pictures with the kiddos too! Of course, I had to sing along to “let it go.” I think my placement was an advantage, since kids often passed my booth and got a look at my stuffies.
I was in the arts market section, but there was much more offered, too. You can’t miss the peach ice cream! I was so happy that one of my friends bought me a scoop!

Sales came and went in waves. No one would walk into my booth for a while, then all of the sudden, there were 5 people back-to-back who came in and purchased. That happened all day long. I made friends with my booth-neighbor, and she even bought a little octopus from me!
It was HOT! However, that is to be expected in Louisiana during the summer. I was sweaty all day long, and I was very thankful when one of the volunteers gave me a little paper fan. I drank a ton of water, which kept me from becoming dehydrated. I was also grateful for the hospitality tent that offered vendors snacks, water, and Gatorade. I took them up on the Gatorade offer.
Several of my friends came to the festival and stopped by to see me! I was very happy to see them, and it made me feel special that they sought me out. A few of them purchased, too. Shout out to my friends – y’all are the best and so supportive!
I made a fantastic profit! I just about doubled what I made last year. I sold out of all of my stuffies, including the whales, narwhals, octopi, peaches, and even the bigger bunny! I sold one of the elephant loveys too, which is extra special to me since it is a completely original design.
In hindsight, I am so glad that I made all of those little toys. I made all of the little animals, 20 in all, in 13 days. It was a lot of work, but well worth it!
The arts market ended at 5:00 in the afternoon. Shane came back and helped me to take down my booth and to pack it all up. We noticed that most vendors had a sturdy wagon for their items, and we agreed that I should invest in one. Lugging cinderblocks and a tent across a parking lot is not fun!
Once we got home, I unloaded my car and took a quick shower. Shane and I went to a birthday party for a friend of ours that I helped to plan, and even bought the paper goods and tableware for. It was Lisa Frank themed, and I wore a rainbow floral dress.
I don’t know how I didn’t pass out at the party from being so tired, but somehow, I had energy to party all night long! I danced with my friends and even helped to take down all of the decorations (since I was part of the party committee).
All in all, it was a very fun, productive day. I learned what does well for me at the Peach Fest, and I’m looking forward to it next year! I may start crocheting peaches for it now…might as well be prepared!
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this recap of the Peach Fest. Comment below to let me know if you have ever been to it, or if you have participated in craft shows yourself!
I appreciate you!
